Two people named Sourav (23) and Srinivas (74) died from excessive alcohol consumption in Bijoynagar, Brahmanbaria. Three others named Ajit, Suman, and Pintu fell ill in the incident and were treated at the hospital.
The incident took place in Mirzapur village of Ichapur union of the upazila on Friday midnight.
The deceased are Sourav, son of Sudanath of Mirzapur village of Ichapur union, and Srinivas, son of deceased lawyer Malakat of the same area.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bijoynagar police station Shahidul Islam said that the elderly Srinivas died at his house. Sourav died after being taken to the hospital. Locals said that they died from excessive alcohol consumption. However, the cause of death can be said after the autopsy. Several others were injured in the incident.
