Moulvibazar Correspondent: Union BNP member Majnur Rahman Majnu and member Sabbir Hossain Sabbir have been accused of forcibly occupying government land “Beribandher Rastha and Syed Miajan Ali’s ownership” in Color Bazar of Uttarbhag Union No. 2 under the Moulvibazar Water Development Board and constructing shop quotas. Syed Miajan Ali, the victim of this incident, has filed a written complaint with the Executive Engineer of Moulvibazar Water Development Board seeking redress. It is learned that on May 19, the Nationalist Party of Uttarbhag Union No. 2 under Rajnagar Upazila, led by Md. Majnu Mia and member Sabbir Hossain Sabbir, started the work of constructing some shop quotas by forcibly occupying vacant land on the way to Wadda Beribandher Road of the Water Development Board in Color Bazar of the same union. When a written complaint was filed with Rajnagar Police Station in this regard, the police arrived at the scene and, after learning the truth of the incident, blocked the encroaching parties and stopped the work. Later, after the police left the scene, they resumed work. When asked about this, the victim, Syed Miajan Ali, said – In addition to encroaching on the government’s “barricade road”, our land is being encroached upon and a shophouse is being built. If the administration does not take legal action quickly, there may be murder and destruction here. There is difficulty in the movement of local people. I have made an application to the Executive Engineer of the Water Development Board on May 21 for the removal of the illegal shophouse, but no visible action has been taken so far.
