New political party “Bangladesh Motherland Party”

After the fall of the fascist government in the July Revolution, several new political parties emerged with the aim of forming a new Bangladesh and building a Bangladesh free of discrimination. One such new political party is the “Bangladesh Matribhumi Dal”.

Almost a few months after its emergence, the party organized a public discussion meeting on the party’s political manifesto, state reforms, elections and the current political situation at the National Press Club on Saturday, May 17.

The meeting was presided over by Advocate Tasmin Rana, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Matribhumi Dal and former Member of Parliament. Former Ambassador, retired Major General Amsa Amin spoke as the chief guest at the meeting.

The meeting was addressed as special guests by freedom fighters Naeem Jahangir, Major Ziaul Haque, Moazzem Hossain Khan Majlish, convener of Nagorik Bhabna Habibur Rahman, Mizanur Rahman, Barrister NP, and others.

‎C: Co-Chairman Lion Azam Khan, Vice Chairman Engineer Salahuddin, Vice Chairman Halim Raj, Joint Secretary General Omar Faruk Jalal, Organizing Secretary Roman, Office Secretary Sabbir, Publicity and Publication Secretary Sohag Ali, Naeem, Bayezid and other leaders spoke on behalf of the Bangladesh Matribhumi Party in the meeting.

Alhaj Shahidul Islam Bhuiyan and AKM Rakibul Ahmed also spoke on behalf of the martyred family. Yasin Apurba, who was released from Dubai jail during the July 24 movement, also spoke in the meeting.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Matribhumi Dal Secretary General and former MP, Advocate Tasmin Rana said, “Bangladesh Matribhumi Dal will strive to build Bangladesh as an ideal democratic, humanistic, welfare-oriented state free from discrimination, corruption and unemployment. We will build a country where all citizens will enjoy their rights to personal freedom, freedom of speech, religious freedom, security and peaceful living, and will have equal opportunities for all state benefits including employment, quality of life, education and healthcare without discrimination based only on merit. Our party will also work especially for the welfare of our remittance warriors, expatriates.”

She also said, “We will not let the sacrifices of the students and the people in the July 24 Revolution go in vain. Bangladesh Matribhumi Dal will continue the fight in unity with all like-minded students and people and expatriates to reform the system that is being held hostage by the state and to build a Bangladesh free from discrimination, God willing.”

Other speakers at the meeting also delivered important speeches on state reforms, fair elections, the rights of expatriates, the implementation of the rights of farmers, workers and working people in Bangladesh, the current political situation in the country, what political parties should do, etc.
