Gender promoters and trainers have been greeted and exchanged views with the Deputy Director of Comilla District Women’s Affairs Department.
On Tuesday at 12 noon, at the office of Barura Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer Afroza Begum, the Deputy Director of Comilla District Women’s Affairs Department, Jasmine Ara, was present as the chief guest in the meeting with gender promoters and trainers of the Barura Upazila Youth Club Establishment Project. At this time, Barura Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer Afroza Begum-Barura presented detailed information about the mother and child support program and the Youth Club Establishment Project and the overall activities of the Women’s Affairs Department in the presence of the Deputy Director. During the exchange of views with gender promoters and teachers of 16 clubs including 15 unions and municipalities at the field level, he expressed satisfaction with the activities and gave instructions to eliminate the tendency of school dropouts in Barura Upazila under all kinds of adverse conditions, eliminate gender inequality among adolescents and create public awareness in the prevention of child marriage and drugs in cooperation with local and public representatives.
Meanwhile, Deputy Director Jasmine Ara Bhuoshi praised the special role played by the Barura Upazila Executive Officer Nu-Mong Marma Mong in preventing child marriage in various unions in Barura Upazila. When Jasmine Ara, Deputy Director of the Comilla District Women’s Affairs Department, arrived in Barura today, she was greeted with flowers by the gender promoters and trainers.
