Press conference in protest of the sudden terrorist attack by Mohammad Zafar Talukder and Mahbub Gong on Maulana Md. Abu Bakkar Siddiqui Talukder, Honorable Advisor of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Mirzaganj Upazila Branch of Mirzaganj Upazila, Patuakhali.

In a written statement at the press conference, the victim said that on Friday, May 9, at approximately 5:30 pm, he had some conversations with the driver of the stolen car, Mahbub, while he was at Abdul Matin Mia’s tea shop in New Market Bazar. In the meantime, Mohammad Abuzafar Talukder, as soon as he saw me at the shop, appeared there and, after engaging in previous outrageous and unnecessary talk about various issues, attacked me with Mahbub and injured me and left me bleeding. I immediately informed the officer-in-charge of Mirzaganj Police Station on my mobile phone. The police station sent the police and the attacker left the market. I appeared in person at Mirzaganj Police Station and showed my injured and bloody body and filed a written complaint at that time. Meanwhile, my younger brother Mohammad Jewel Talukder, after hearing the news of the attack on me, came to the market after Maghrib prayers. The attackers also appeared in the market again. When they met the attackers at Abbas’s tea shop, they asked about the attack and attacked my younger brother Jewel. At one point, a fight broke out, and both sides were injured to some extent. He further said, “It should be noted that the matter is nothing more than a matter of differences of opinion on the lines of family and religious belief, and it has no political relevance at all. Some mischievous circles are trying to include the matter in party politics, so the political matter is completely false and baseless. I request the local people and the administration to conduct a fair investigation on the matter through journalist brothers
