A fine has been collected in a mobile court for the crime of destroying agricultural land and extracting soil with a dredger in Barura, Comilla.
On Tuesday, May 13 at 11 am, a mobile court operation was conducted in Singachho village, Aganagar Union No. 1, Barura Upazila, for the crime of destroying agricultural land and extracting soil.
At that time, two individuals named Md. Hasan and Bachchu Mia were fined Tk 50,000 and Tk 100,000 each in two separate cases under the Balumahal and Soil Management Acts for extracting soil with a dredger.
Barura Upazila Assistant Commissioner Bhumi Umme Muslima conducted the mobile court as per the instructions of Barura Upazila Executive Officer Nu-Among Marma Mong. The Sangiya Force and others were present at the time.
In this regard, Barura Upazila Executive Officer Nu-Among Marma Mong said that we have already brought the culprits under the law through mobile courts for illegally using dredger machines to extract soil in different areas. This campaign is continuing. He also sought the cooperation of everyone, including representatives of civil society, against illegal dredgers.
