Court employees have gone on a two-point strike at the Joypurhat court premises demanding the inclusion of 7th-12th grades after the 1st-6th grades of the Judicial Service Pay Scale, the abolition of existing block posts, the creation of new, modern-day posts, and the formulation of independent appointment rules with opportunities for promotion based on merit and seniority.
Today, Monday (April 5), court employees went on a strike at the Joypurhat court premises from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.
The speakers present at the time said that a separate secretariat should be set up under the Supreme Court for the judiciary. They demand that the auxiliary employees of the subordinate courts and tribunals be classified as auxiliary employees of the judiciary in the 7th-12th grade after the 1st-6th grade of the existing Judicial Service Pay Scale, along with salary allowances in the light of the Bangladesh Judicial Service Pay Scale. They also demand that the existing block posts be abolished and new posts be created, and that separate appointment rules be formulated with opportunities for promotion based on qualifications and seniority.
Bangladesh Judicial Employees Association Joypurhat District Branch President Abdul Hannan, General Secretary Krishna Kumar Sarkar, Joint General Secretary Shahid Rabbi and Organizing Secretary Mamun Bhuiyan, among others, spoke at the time.
