Comilla Correspondent:

It is being reported through local media and social media that an attempt was made to hold a march under the banner of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement demanding the resignation of Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan in Muradnagar Upazila of Comilla on April 30. We firmly declare that the Muradnagar Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has no connection with this march.

The leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Muradnagar Upazila, announced this at a press conference in front of the Zilla Parishad Market in Muradnagar Upazila at 9 pm yesterday (April 30).

The convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Muradnagar branch, Md. Obaidul Haque Siddiqui, member secretary Al Mamun and main organizer Asif Sarkar spoke at the press conference.

They said at the press conference, we have come to know that the banned Chhatra League and Awami League, Chhatra League united and forcibly brought the young students of the school to the procession by threatening them with TC to implement their vile objectives. As a result, it has appeared to us that they are using the historical banner of the July mass uprising to make it controversial. In July-August, the banner of the anti-discrimination student movement under which the murderer Hasina fell is being used by the banned Chhatra League and Awami League to defame the advisor. We strongly condemn and protest against such vile and purposeful acts using this historical banner of the anti-discrimination student movement. At the same time, we strongly demand that the users of the anti-discrimination student movement banner by the banned Chhatra League, Awami League and unauthorized persons be brought under the existing laws of the country and punished. The miscreants participating in the procession must be arrested within the next 12 hours. Otherwise, a strong movement will be launched against the banned Chhatra League, Awami League and unauthorized individuals for using the banner of the anti-discrimination student movement.
