Comilla in 70 flood-affected homeless families have received houses built by the army under the special housing construction project in their own homes. The houses were handed over as gifts by Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
The Chief Advisor inaugurated the ‘Special Housing Construction Project in Their Own Homes’ online on Wednesday (April 30) morning.
29 houses from the shelter project in Burichang, 10 in Brahmanpara, 6 in Sadar Dakshin, 10 in Chauddagram, 10 in Manoharganj and 5 in Nangalkot have been handed over to the flood-affected beneficiaries. The 24th and 33rd Infantry Divisions of the Army implemented these house constructions in collaboration with the district administration.
The program was connected to the office of the Chief Advisor in Dhaka from the house of beneficiary Md. Alam Mia of Kumalla village, Golpasha union, Chauddagram upazila, Comilla.
The Chief Advisor will inaugurate the house handover program among the beneficiaries by connecting virtually. All concerned are specially requested to prepare. Final instructions from the Chief Advisor’s office will be communicated as soon as they are received.
Incidentally, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus handed over 300 houses to the homeless families affected by the 2024 floods. Out of these, 70 houses built in Comilla district were inaugurated.
