On 05/04/2025 at approximately 20:00 hrs, the victim (17), a student of class eleven, went out of her residence for a personal need. At that time, the accused Md. Siam Kuddus (22), with the help of his accomplices, forcibly abducted the victim against her will.
Following the incident, the victim’s father filed a kidnapping case at Dashmina Police Station in Patuakhali district. Subsequently, the investigating officer sent a requisition letter to the Commanding Officer of RAB-10, Dhaka, requesting assistance in rescuing the victim and bringing the perpetrators under the law. Based on this requisition, a team from RAB-10 intensified surveillance activities.
As part of this effort, today, 19/04/2025, at approximately 15:20 hrs, the RAB-10 operational team, acting on secret information, using technological support and with the assistance of RAB-1, conducted an operation in the Borobari area under Gacha Police Station of Gazipur Metropolitan City. In this operation, the accused named in the FIR—Md. Siam Kuddus (22), son of Abu Kalam Chowkidar, village: Madabpur, police station: Bauphal, district: Patuakhali—was arrested in connection with Dashmina Police Station case number 07, dated 10/04/2025, under Section 7/30 of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act 2000. Based on his information, the 17-year-old victim was also rescued.
The process of handing over the arrested accused to the concerned police station is currently underway.
