Sports Desk: The Bangladesh national hockey team is now in the Indonesian capital Jakarta. The AHF Cup hockey tournament will start here next Thursday. Pushkar Khisa Mimora arrived in the tournament city at around 10:30 am Bangladesh time, but the Bangladesh Hockey Federation has not provided any information about it.
Even though the Bangladesh Hockey Federation is asleep, the Asian Hockey Federation has widely publicized the news of Bangladesh team leaving for Jakarta. The news of Bangladesh team leaving Dhaka has been given on their official Facebook page with pictures.
When asked, Bangladesh Hockey Federation General Secretary Lt. Col. Riazul Hasan (retd.) said, “I have told the federation. They have not given anything yet? Well, I am looking into it.”
After Riazul Hasan’s words, the federation officials provided the news of the hockey team’s arrival in Jakarta to the media. The Asian Hockey Federation has done this five hours ago.
Bangladesh is the five-time champion in this tournament. This time it will play in Group ‘B’. The opponents are Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka, Thailand and host Indonesia. Bangladesh will play its first match against Kazakhstan on April 18.
Bangladesh is going to take the field without any warm-up matches in a mission to retain the title. The general secretary of the federation said that they have not got any team to play warm-up matches.
