BNP Vice Chairman Abdul Awal Mintu in Rajbari

BNP has no disagreement on reforms. However, BNP Vice Chairman Abdul Awal Mintu has commented that BNP does not want the country to be run for a long time without a people’s representative government in the name of reforms.

He made these comments in response to quest

ions from journalists after the chief guest’s speech at the Lal Teer Hybrid Onion Exhibition and Field Day program in Baliakandi, Rajbari on Friday (April 11) afternoon. The program was organized at the ground of Sonapur Boro Hijli Zulfikar Siddique Wazedia Alim Madrasa in Baliakandi Upazila.

Abdul Awal Mintu said, we have supported this government during its establishment and are still supporting it, and will continue to support it in the future. Therefore, we demand that the reforms needed for free, fair and acceptable elections be carried out and elections held quickly. Through which elections a democratic, people’s representative and accountable government will be established. But when the government says to hold elections in December and then in June. Then we feel hesitant.

Abdul Awal Mintu said, an investment conference was held a few days ago. We applaud the conference they held for investment, we also applaud the government’s efforts. But if there is no political certainty and stability in the country, if there is no democratic government, then investment will not come much. We want economic growth in the country, we want economic development, we want improvement in the quality of life of the people. If we have to do these, we have to increase investment. And to increase investment, we have to establish a democratic government in the country.

At the field day program, Deputy Director of the District Agricultural Extension Department Md. Shahidul Islam, Baliakandi Upazila Agricultural Officer Md. Rafiqul Islam, Sadar Upazila Agricultural Officer Md. Joni Khan, former joint general secretary of the Central Krishak Dal Shahjahan Mia Samrat, Rajbari District BNP convener Advocate Liaqat Ali Babu, member secretary Advocate Kamrul Alam and former member secretary Manjurul Alam Dulal spoke.

Former general secretary of the district BNP Harun-or-Rashid Harun, current joint convener Rezaul Karim Pintu, former president of Baliakandi Upazila BNP Abul Hossain Khan, former general secretary Khondaker Mashiul Azam Chunnu, former president of the district volunteer party Mostafizur Rahman Likhon, current convener Tuhinur Rahman Tuhin, district Chhatra Dal convener Ariful Islam Roman and others were present.

It is worth noting that Abdul Awal Mintu is the chairman of Lal Teer Seed Limited and CEO of Multimode Group.
