SM Abu Darda joined as Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) in Rajbari’s panchayat. Last Sunday (November 3) at 12:30 in the afternoon, he appeared at the office of the executive officer of Pangsha and assumed his duties.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Masudur Rahman Rubel and government officials of various departments of the upazila welcomed the new UNO with flowers while joining the upazila. He said in a meeting, I want to work with everyone’s cooperation. I will work to build this upazila as a model upazila with the people of Pangsha. My door will always be open. Anyone can feel free to come to my office for any work.
He also said that since I am new in this upazila, it will take me some time to know and understand everything. I will work with suggestions and opinions of everyone including journalists. I am determined to work with integrity. My father was also an administrative cadre officer. So I know the administrative matter from my childhood. At this time, he sought the cooperation of all officials-employees, journalists, civil society and upazila residents.
It is known that he joined the government service as an administrative cadre officer in the 35th batch. Earlier, he was working as Senior Assistant Secretary in Ministry of Lands. He is a resident of Kurigram district.
