Sammiara Parveen and her husband Kushtia Sadar Upazila Parishad chairman and general secretary of the city Awami League. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against Ataur Rahman Ata. On Monday (March 11, 2024), the case was filed by Assistant Director of ACC Nil Kamal Pal at Kushtia Integrated District Office. According to the statement of the case, the assistant teacher of municipal government primary school No. 4 of Kushtia city was deleted. Sammiara Parveen (42) has concealed assets of Tk 3 lakh 65 thousand 468 with baseless or false information in her asset statement submitted to ACC and has committed an offense punishable under the Anti-Corruption Commission Act by acquiring and possessing assets of Tk 63 lakh 66 thousand 574 inconsistent with the known income. Sammiara Parveen’s husband Kushtia Sadar Upazila Chairman Md. Ataur Rahman (Ata) (47) committed an offense punishable under Section 109 of the Penal Code.
