3 killed in Pabna clash : 32 injured

It has been reported that three people were shot dead in a clash between Awami League and anti-discrimination protesters in Pabna. 32 people were injured in this incident. Awami Logi leader’s car was burnt and Jubo League leader’s office vandalized.

On Sunday afternoon, under the strict supervision of law and order forces, hundreds of students took a protest march from Pabna Government Edward College and took a stand next to Pace Club on Abdul Hamid Road in the city. Students started shouting slogans. At that time, Awami League and Jubo League clashed with the students.

Three people named Zahidu Islam (19), Mahbubul Hossain (16), Fahim (17) were killed in this incident.

Meanwhile, the law enforcement personnel fired tear shells and sound grenades to control the situation and the protest was temporarily dispersed. When the news of the death reached the students, the students ignored the rain and staged a protest. Assistant Director of Pabna General Hospital Dr. Rafiqul Hasan confirmed this information.

The deceased are Arafat Hossain Mahbubul (16), son of Kishore Abul Kalam of Hazirhat area, Zahidul Islam (19) of Balrampur village and Fahim Hossain (17), a student of Edward College. The injured are undergoing treatment.

Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police Masud Alam said that three people were killed in the clash.
