A mobile court has fined 17 motorcyclists in Brahmanbaria for not wearing a helmet and not having a motorcycle license. In separate raids, nine motorcyclists were fined 17,500 taka in Brahmanbaria municipal area and 13,100 taka were fined to eight motorcyclists in Vijaynagar.
On Wednesday afternoon, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Mohammad Salim Sheikh and Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (V.M) and Executive Magistrate Md. Mosharraf Hossain conducted the operation in front of Thana Bridge in the city. On the other hand, Vijaynagar upazila executive officer and executive magistrate AH Irfan Uddin Ahmed conducted a mobile court on Chandura-Akhaura road of Vijaynagar upazila and fined eight motor cycle riders on Tuesday from noon to afternoon.
Sadar UNO Mohammad Salim Sheikh, who runs the mobile court, said, ‘First of all, your own safety. Riding a motorcycle without a helmet is a crime and dangerous. In most of the motorcycle accidents during road traffic, head injuries are caused due to lack of helmet. Helmets are essential for safety from these accidents. The campaign will continue in this regard.’
Vijayanagar UNO AH Irfan Uddin Ahmed said, with the aim of bringing safety on the roads, to avoid accidents and to control the speed of motorcycles, an operation was conducted against riding motorcycles without helmets and licenses as per the provisions of the Road Transport Act 2018. At this time, nine people were fined in different ways.
